European Conference of Iranian Studies (ECIS)

After completing my high school education in Mathematics and Physics at the National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents, I pursued a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering at Shiraz University. It was during this time that I developed a strong interest in theory and research in the field of architecture. This led me towards a master’s degree in Iranian architectural studies at Shahid Beheshti University. During this phase of my academic journey, I ventured into the captivating world of humanities and immersed myself in the rich history of Iran. It became evident to me that there were significant gaps in the study of Iranian history, especially in the realm of Iranian architectural history.

Continuing my academic Journey, I was admitted to the doctoral program in architecture at Iran University of Science and Technology. Here, I identified additional shortcomings within the field of Architectural History, particularly when compared to other disciplines. One glaring issue was the scarcity of international publications authored by scholars in Iran and their limited presence on the global stage. So, I took the initiative to connect with professors and researchers abroad.

This led to a fruitful collaboration resulting in the publication of a joint article in a prestigious international journal. Additionally, I had the privilege of presenting my research at the European Conference of Iranian Studies held in the Netherlands. My participation in this conference, which convenes every four years in Europe, was made possible through the support of the Haamee Institute. It proved to be an invaluable experience and provided a unique opportunity to engage with experts from various countries deeply invested in Iranian studies. I am hopeful that these steps will pave the way for an increased presence of researchers from Iran on the international stage, whose absence was deeply felt in this conference.
